Working together: what a novel idea

I think that this is a really good sign: Scientists, Christians unite on climate fight.

There are a lot of issues where people need to move past their differences in the hopes of solving a common problem. Global warming is one area where the outcome affects us all, whether or not we believe in evolution or that God rested on the seventh day. Same thing with a lot of other common things, such as better education, ending poverty, increasing equality, access to health care, etc.

There are some areas, such as abortion or stem cell research, where I'm not entirely sure such different groups can get along unless people understand that their own personal religious beliefs should not dictate public policy. But, you don't find many evangelicals who get that, and thus the problem. But, at least things such as global warming can be a start toward bridging the gap between people with such disparate views of the details.
